Yesterday I wandered down to the waterfront and back to the hostel looking for a cheap place to buy a shirt. All I found was Rolex.
I washed my clothes in the sink (oh how miss that days of doing laundry once or twice a week...) and hung them out. Everyone dries their clothes on lines, but you're not allowed to hang anything over the balcony- it's actually against the law.
After that I hiked up to Jesus, who lives on top of Monte Urgull on top of an old fort used by Napoleon.
Along the way I stumbled on an old military graveyard, including a mass grave for English soldiers.

And had incredible views from the top, despite the misty, gray weather.
I grabbed a gelato for lunch on my walk back to my hostel, then was followed by a beggar for about 2 blocks. Seeing as how he was clean, 20ish and perfectly healthy, I imagine he makes more money begging than if he got a job. However, Spain does have an incredibly high unemployment rate. My tour guide said it was over 30%, close to 50% for some groups, but I'm not sure if that was just Madrid or all of Spain.
