Wandering About San Sebastian

I hung round my hostel until around 1400, trying to make travel arrangements and decide where to go next (all I know at this point is somewhere in France).  I had trouble with my debit card and with the booking website, so I still don't know where I'll be off to.  The buses all leave at 2359, which makes me nervous.  Today I was followed by another beggar for a couple blocks and had a random guy walking toward me growling or purring, don't know who it was directed at, but it was just plain weird.

When I finally gave up on making travel arrangements, I headed to the waterfront, then crossed the Urumea River, saw some incredible buildings, then crossed back over the river and walked up a long path.  They had separate paved paths along the river for bikers and walkers, it was really nice.

When I got to the end of the path, I was at the Parque de Araba, which is when the beggar started following me.  I trucked along with a group of people until he gave up, and ended up hiking a big hill, looking for a street to head back to the water.  Finally, I walked by a gorgeous old staircase that led all the way down, several hundred feet, to the Paseo de la Concha, which runs along the waterfront.  From there, I went down to the beach and walked in the water, which was surprisingly cold.  I came back up by the Parque de Aldderi-Eder, about a block from my home base at Urban House.  Unfortunately I embedded a piece of glass in my foot before I got my shoes on, so I soaked my new white sock in blood.  If I get some dreaded blood borne disease, or my foot rots off, that's what it'll be from.  It was when I was fishing out that piece of glass that growling man came walking up,  so I limped off as quickly as I was able to have some more gelato for a late lunch.  Today it was almond and banana and the almond is by far my favorite so far....oh heavenly goodness.  How have Americans survived without real gelato?

Watch out for Jesus!
Since I've been having trouble with my debit card, I decided to try the ATM before I completely ran out of Euros and thankfully it worked!

  2. No shirt yet lol. I walked into a store yesterday where the scarves were 65 euros (~$90) and quickly circled back out
